Jan Blachowicz had to battle Igor Pokrajac and a very partisan Croatian crowd, but still managed to come away with a hard fought victory after three rounds.

Blachowicz has long been considered one of the Europe's top light heavyweights, but he hasn't looked the part in his last two fights inside the Octagon.

He made up for that with his performance on Sunday.

Blachowicz definitely had a fight on his hands as Pokrajac returned to the UFC for the first time since 2014 and put on a show for his home country crowd in Zagreb.

As soon as the fight started, Blachowicz showed a lot of confidence in his skills and after hurting Pokrajac with an early punch, he swarmed on the Croatian with a series of shots to the head and to the body against the cage.

Just when it looked like Blachowicz might have the finish, Pokrajac somehow gathered his senses and began firing back with reckless abandon and managed to land a few shots of his own.

Blachowicz consistently landed the stiffer punches round after round, but Pokrajac refused to go down or back up as he fired back with counter shots and showed off incredible heart to weather the storm.

When it was all over, Blachowicz earned 29-28 scores across the board to get his second win in the UFC but it was clear that Pokrajac earned his spot back on the roster with a gutsy performance in a bout that could yield both men a hefty bonus when the night is over.
