Jackson gets 2 hits, pitches 5 innings as Cubs beat Angels 7-6
MESA, Ariz. – Edwin Jackson pitched five uneven innings but also got two hits as the Chicago Cubs beat a split squad of Los Angeles Angels 7-6 Saturday.
Jackson allowed five runs and eight hits. He went 2 for 2 at the plate and drove in a run.
David DeJesus extended his spring hitting streak to 11 games for the Cubs. He got two hits, scored a run and drove in one. He is 17 for 33 (.515) during his hitting string.
Angels starter Joe Blanton allowed two runs in six-plus innings. He struck out five without a walk.
