Rome, Italy – Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini will be out three weeks with a thigh strain, but the Juventus man is not expected to miss the Euro 2012 finals.
The 27-year-old Chiellini was injured in the final match of the Serie A season as Juventus capped an unbeaten season, but will be sidelined just three weeks.
Italy opens its Euro finals against Spain on June 10, and also plays Croatia and Ireland in Group C.
