Ponte Vedra Beach, FL – The PGA Tour announced on Monday that Japanese star Ryo Ishikawa has received Special Temporary Membership for the rest of the 2012 season.
Ishikawa has made six starts thus far this season on the PGA Tour and has pocketed $582,471. He was the runner-up in Puerto Rico and that check allowed him to move past the earnings of last year's No. 150 on the money list, Jason Bohn. That milestone is the number needed for Special Temporary Membership.
The 20-year-old is now allowed unlimited sponsor's exemptions for the rest of this year. Ishikawa has the chance to join the tour as full member next year if his World Golf Championship money and official prize money gets him to 125th on the money list.
