LOS ANGELES – Isaac Hamilton lost his appeal to void the national letter of intent he signed with UTEP, so the freshman guard won't be allowed to play for No. 22 UCLA this season.
The school said Thursday that Hamilton will be allowed to practice with the Bruins this season, and will have three years of eligibility remaining. He enrolled at UCLA and signed a scholarship offer in September.
Hamilton signed with UTEP last November, but later decided not to enroll and asked the school for his release. Coach Tim Floyd refused, and Hamilton filed a formal appeal that was denied.
Hamilton averaged 23.5 points and 5.0 assists as a senior at St. John Bosco High in Bellflower, Calif.
