'Inside the Rays: Logan Forsythe' premieres June 18 on FOX Sports Sun

TAMPA, Fla. -- On Saturday, June 18 at 7:30 p.m., FOX Sports Sun, the statewide television home of the Tampa Bay Rays, will debut an all-new episode of "Inside the Rays" centered on second baseman Logan Forsythe. The premiere episode goes all-access with the Memphis, Tenn., native now in his third season with the Rays.

The drive that has propelled Logan to his success in the Major Leagues was instilled at an early age by his father, John Forsythe. This drive quickly translated into the ferocious work ethic he is so well known for today. Logan's ambition, along with the support and encouragement from his mother, Dana Forsythe, and brother, Blake Forsythe, has been present in him throughout his journey from Christian Brothers High School to Major League Baseball.

After a successful high school career, Logan went on to play the game he loves at his mother's alma mater, the University of Arkansas. Logan thrived while playing for Head Coach Dave Van Horn. Following a freshman year that included 24 starts, Logan exploded on the scene in his sophomore season, improving his batting average by over 150 points and leading the Razorbacks in steals.

Logan was chosen by the San Diego Padres in the supplemental first round of the 2008 MLB Draft. After progressing through the minors, Logan had his first call-up on May 4, 2011. On January 22, 2014 he was traded to the Tampa Bay Rays in a seven-player deal. When he finally earned the opportunity to be an everyday player with the Rays, Forsythe made the most of it, earning the team MVP award and signing a two-year contract in the 2015 offseason.
