The right-hander was ejected in the fourth inning of Friday's game for throwing at Butler, one pitch after yielding a grand slam home run to Melky Cabrera.

Butler, who had also homered in the first inning of the game, had to be restrained from going after Carrasco, who was ejected following the incident.

Carrasco is 8-9 this season for the Indians (53-52), who are second in the American League Central, 2.5 games behind the Detroit Tigers.

The suspension was scheduled to begin during Cleveland's game Monday against the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park. But if Carrasco appealed, the penalty would be temporarily halted until a ruling was made.
