Cleveland, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - The Cleveland Indians activated pitcher Zach McAllister from the 15-day disabled list.

The move came in advance of McAllister's starting assignment Thursday afternoon against the Angels.

McAllister has been out due to a lower back strain. He last pitched in a May 21 start against Detroit, but departed in the third inning. In his last two starts, the 26-year-old right-hander has given up 10 hits and 13 runs -- 12 earned -- covering 3 1/3 innings. He is 3-4 with a 5.89 ERA in 10 starts.

The Indians also designated left-hander Josh Outman for assignment. Outman is 4-0 with a 3.28 ERA in 31 relief appearances this season.
