Montreal, QC (SportsNetwork.com) - The Montreal Impact took a big step toward clinching a postseason berth on Saturday, coming from behind in a 2-1 defeat of the Philadelphia Union at the Stade Saputo.
The Union held the lead heading into the halftime interval as Kleberson's through ball to Fabinho in the 29th minute was powered past Troy Perkins at the near post.
But the Canadian side emerged from the break rejuvenated as Marco Di Vaio claimed an equalizer in the 64th minute. Davy Arnaud laid the ball off for the Italian veteran, who turned inside and curled a shot past Zac MacMath at the far post for this MLS-leading 20th goal of the season.
The Impact were made to wait until the closing minutes of the match for the game-winning strike as Karl Ouimette nodded home Justin Mapp's free kick in the 84th minute for his first goal of the campaign.
The win sees Montreal improve to 49 points to climb into third place in the Eastern Conference.
Philadelphia remains on 46 points as the club's playoff aspirations hinge on its final match against Sporting Kansas City.
