Paris, France (SportsNetwork.com) - PSG forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic was handed a two-match suspension on Friday by the Ligue 1 disciplinary committee, meaning he will miss out on a pair of games with Monaco in March.

The suspension comes retrospectively after the committee reviewed an incident involving the Sweden international and St Etienne's Romain Hamouma on Jan. 25.

Ibrahimovic was booked for a foul on Hamouma during the match, but the committee viewed the challenge as reckless and deemed it worthy of a suspension.

The 33-year-old will be eligible for PSG's match with Toulouse this weekend, but he will miss the Ligue 1 clash against Monaco on March 1 as well as a Coupe de France meeting with Monaco, while a further one-match ban will be suspended for a year.

With 11 goals in 17 Ligue 1 matches, Ibrahimovic is PSG's leading scorer, and his team enters this weekend two points back of leaders Lyon.
