Paris, France (SportsNetwork.com) - Zlatan Ibrahimovic bagged a hat trick on Saturday as Paris Saint-Germain rolled to a comfortable 3-1 victory over Nice at the Parc des Princes.
It took a little while for the defending French champions to get rolling in the final third of the pitch, but Ibrahimovic finally got things started in the 39th minute when he ran onto a cross at the near post and finished easily to give Les Parisiens the lead.
After the intermission, Ibrahimovic converted a penalty kick for his second goal of the day before Nemanja Pejcinovic pulled one back for Nice to make it 2-1 with 20 minutes remaining.
But Nice's hope for a comeback was fleeting as Ibrahimovic completed his treble 15 minutes from time to wrap up three points.
The result sees the champions go five points clear of second-place Lille at the top of the table, while Nice remains in 11th place on 17 points from 13 matches played.
Elsewhere in Ligue 1 on Saturday, Gianni Bruno's eighth-minute goal held as the difference as Bastia claimed a 1-0 victory over Rennes, while Guingamp and Lille battled to a scoreless draw at the Stade du Roudourou.
Paul-Bastien Lasne and Issiaga Sylla traded first-half goals at the Stade Municipal de Toulouse as Toulouse and Ajaccio played to a 1-1 stalemate, while Benjamin Stambouli's stoppage-time equalizer saved a point for 10-man Montpellier in a 1-1 draw against Valenciennes.
In Saturday's final Ligue 1 fixture, Lorient and Reims played to a scoreless draw at the Stade du Moustoir.
