Raleigh, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - The Carolina Hurricanes have activated defenseman Mike Komisarek off injured reserve.
Komisarek has missed five games with a lower body injury.
The 31-year-old veteran has not recorded a point in 10 games this season, his first with the Hurricanes. He signed as a free agent in July after Toronto bought out his contract.
Komisarek has 14 goals and 77 points in 529 NHL games with Montreal, Toronto and Carolina. He was selected by the Canadiens with the seventh overall pick of the 2001 draft.
