OREM, Utah – Holton Hunsaker scored 14 points and made a critical steal to preserve Utah Valley's 62-59 victory over in-state foe Weber State on Wednesday night.
With Utah Valley (4-5) ahead 60-59, Hunsaker missed a free throw with 27 seconds remaining that the Wildcats (1-4) rebounded. But Hunsaker stole the ball from Davion Berry with 8 seconds left and Utah Valley's Hayes Garrity added two free throws before Berry missed a 3-pointer.
Garrity scored 13 points while Zach Nelson added 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Wolverines.
Berry scored 20 points, including the Wildcats' last seven over the final 4:11. Weber State took its first lead at 46-45 with 10:45 left. The lead changed hands seven times after that.
This was Weber State's first game since Nov. 30 after its previously scheduled game on Dec. 7 at Texas-Arlington was cancelled because of inclement weather in the Dallas area that prevented travel.
