London, England – QPR confirmed Tuesday that Mark Hughes has been appointed as the club's new manager.
Hughes, 48, signed a two-and-a-half year deal at Loftus Road, replacing Neil Warnock after he was sacked as boss on Sunday.
"It's a great feeling to be back in football and to be the Manager of QPR," Hughes told the club's official website. "I'm fully aware of the challenge in the short and long term and I am genuinely excited about the ambition of the owners."
QPR sits fourth from bottom with 17 points on the season, just one point above the relegation zone.
