Wimbledon, England – Top-seeded Americans Liezel Huber and Lisa Raymond came up semifinal losers Friday at the London Olympics tennis event.
Fourth-seeded Czechs Andrea Hlavackova and Lucie Hradecka straight-setted the 35-year-old Huber and 38-year-old Raymond 6-1, 7-6 (7-2) at the All England Club. The reigning U.S. Open champions Huber and Raymond will play in the bronze medal match on Sunday.
The 2011 French Open champions Hlavackova and Hradecka will face the winner between third-seeded Russians Maria Kirilenko and Nadia Petrova and reigning gold medallists Serena Williams and Venus Williams, the powerful Americans who are unseeded here. Serena will play in the gold medal women's singles match as well as a semifinal doubles bout on Saturday. The doubles encounter was postponed on Friday.
Serena and Venus won the Wimbledon doubles title in this London suburb last month and captured Olympic gold together in Beijing four years ago and Sydney in 2000.
