A.J. Davis scored 18 points and made four 3-pointers, and James Madison used a blistering-shooting second half to race by San Jose State for a 77-68 win in the Vegas Holiday Hoops event on Saturday night.

After shooting just 25.8 percent en route to trailing 34-24 at halftime, the Dukes (4-6) made 18 of 23 shots (78.3 percent) from the floor during the final 20 minutes.

Rayshawn Goins had 13 points and nine rebounds, Devon Moore 12 points and Charles Cooke 11 points for James Madison.

LaVanne Pennington scored 16 points and D.J. Brown 15 for the Spartans (5-4).

A 14-0 run over a 4:33 stretch in the second half by the Dukes wiped out their halftime deficit. The game was tied at 55-all with eight minutes left when James Madison went on a 12-2 surge punctuated by 3-pointers from Davis, Moore and Ron Curry, and San Jose State got no closer than six the rest of the way.
