The lone goal came in the 13th minute, as Hooper's strike helped the visitors secure their fifth-straight win in the Scottish top flight.

Celtic improves to 38 points on the year, good enough for second place in the Scottish table behind Rangers. The leaders had extended their advantage atop the table after a 2-1 defeat of Dunfermline on Saturday, but Sunday's result sees Celtic keep pace.

Dundee United sit eighth in the league with 18 points and return to action on Saturday when they face Inverness.
