London, England (SportsNetwork.com) - Tottenham midfielder Lewis Holtby will spend the rest of the Premier League season on loan at Fulham after agreeing to a move on Friday.
Holtby secured a move from Schalke to Tottenham 12 months ago, but he has struggled to hold down a regular place in the first team this season, appearing in 13 league matches with only six starts.
"I have said previous that we are pretty strong, in my opinion, in that area of the field and the last thing I want to do is stockpile players who I don't see featuring on a regular basis," Tottenham manager Tim Sherwood said. "He's a good lad, he warrants a start and he is one I sanction to leave the club."
In addition to Holtby, Fulham also signed Greek striker Konstantinos Mitroglou from Olympiakos.
The 25-year-old scored 14 goals in the Greek Super League this season, while playing an important role in Greece reaching this summer's World Cup with three goals in the team's two-legged playoff with Romania.
Mitroglou joins the Cottagers on a four-and-a-half-year deal for a fee believed to be around $20 million.
