Hobbled Djokovic questionable for Monte Carlo

Novak Djokovic's status for next week's Masters event in Monte Carlo is uncertain after tests on his right ankle revealed a "joint structure strain" that will require rest and therapy.

The world's top tennis player had an MRI Tuesday morning that revealed no structural damage to the joint capsule or ligaments.

Djokovic is a two-time Monte Carlo runner-up, including last year against former world No. 1 star Rafael Nadal, the reigning eight-time champion.

The Australian Open titlist Djokovic injured the ankle on Sunday during his Davis Cup quarterfinal-clinching win against American Sam Querrey, sending Serbia into the semifinals against Canada in September.
