Utrecht, Netherlands (SportsNetwork.com) - Heracles claimed all three points at Utrecht on Sunday, coming out on top in a 4-2 thriller at the Stadion Galgenwaard.

Thomas Bruns handed the visitors the lead after only eight minutes, but Kristoffer Peterson brought Utrecht level in the 23rd.

The hosts had a tremendous opportunity to grab the lead four minutes later when hey were awarded a penalty, but Yassine Ayoub squandered the ensuing spot attempt.

It proved to be a pivotal miss as Heracles went in front through Mark-Jan Fledderus in the 49th minute before Wouter Weghorst made it three in the 74th.

Gevero Markiet handed Utrecht a lifeline by scoring in the 90th minute, but Iiass Bel Hassani struck moments later to ensure the win for Heracles.

The win brings Heracles out of the relegation zone, moving the club to 15th place with 15 points.

Zwolle received a brace from Tomas Necid to cruise to a 3-1 home win over Den Haag on Sunday.

Necid broke the deadlock in the 17th minute by converting a penalty before Jesper Drost doubled the advantage in the 58th minute.

The win was secured in the 71st minute when Necid netted his second of the match, but Den Haag salvaged a consolation goal through Michiel Kramer in the 74th minute.

Also in Sunday's Eredivisie slate, Micheal De Leeuw and Mark Uth exchanged early goals as Groningen played to a 1-1 draw with Heerenveen and Vitesse was held to a 2-2 home draw by Twente.
