Jeffrey Julmis advanced to the semifinal of the men's 110m hurdles held Tuesday night in Rio's Olympic Stadium - but the unthinkable happened just two seconds into his race. Julmis botched his first jump, lifting his left leg less than halfway up the 42-inch high hurdle.

Julmis crashed into the hurdle and somersaulted forward as the rest of the runners sprinted away, instantly becoming an internet sensation for all the wrong reasons.

Julmis didn't give up, though. The Haitian - one of just 10 athletes to represent his country in the Olympics - got back up and finished the rest of the race, even though he was disqualified.
