Trevor Gruis scored 18 points and South Dakota withstood a late rally from IUPUI for a 71-67 win on Saturday.

South Dakota (10-15, 4-6 Summit League) led 64-54 before IUPUI (6-22, 1-10) closed the game on a 13-7 run.

P.J. Hubert's 3-pointer with 18 seconds left cut the lead to 68-64. After South Dakota missed the front end of a 1-and-1, Elijah Ray's 3-pointer with 10 seconds to go brought the Jaguars within 68-67.

Tyler Larson hit two free throws for South Dakota to put the Coyotes up 70-67 before Marcellus Barksdale was fouled and missed two attempts for IUPUI. Larson made one more free throw with 3 seconds left to preserve the win.

Larson scored 13 for the Coyotes. Tyler Flack had 12 and Trey Norris added 10.

Mitch Patton led the Jaguars with 16 points. Ray added 12 points and Barksdale had 10.
