Eindhoven, Netherlands (SportsNetwork.com) - PSV Eindhoven saw its eight-game Eredivisie winning streak come to an end on Saturday as the club suffered a 3-2 home loss to Groningen.
Eindhoven took the lead early on through Memphis Depay, but Groningen answered through Richairo Zivkovic's 18th-minute equalizer and Filip Kostic's go-ahead goal two minutes later.
Jurgen Locadia converted a penalty in the 37th minute to see the two sides head into the halftime interval level at a goal apiece, but Tjaronn Chery struck in the 64th minute to see Groningen take the lead for good.
The loss prevents PSV from moving into second place in the Dutch top flight after Vitesse was held to a 2-2 home draw by Heerenveen on Saturday. Groningen, meanwhile, has won two straight to improve to 39 points.
Also on Saturday, Matthew Amoah scored in the fifth minute of stoppage time to see Heracles get a dramatic 2-1 win at NEC.
