Victoria, Australia (SportsNetwork.com) - Matthew Griffin defeated Matthew Stieger on the third playoff hole Sunday to win the Oates Victorian Open Championship.

Griffin closed with a 4-under 68 to get in at 7-under-par 281. Stieger posted a 3-under 69 to join him there. On the third extra hole, Griffin poured in a birdie effort for the win.

Griffin birdied the second and fifth, both par-5s, before tripping to a bogey on the eighth at 13th Beach Golf Links. Around the turn, he birdied the par-5 11th and followed with birdies at 15 and 17 to get to minus-7.

Stieger, who played with Griffin in the final threesome, got going with birdies on the first and fourth, but stumbled to a bogey on the sixth. He atoned for that error with a birdie on No. 9. Stieger followed a birdie on 13 with a double-bogey on the 14th. He bounced back with birdies at 16 and 18 to force the playoff.

Third-round leader Brett Drewitt managed a 1-under 71 in the final round to end one back at minus-6. Andrew Kelly (67) and Terry Pilkadaris (71) shared fourth at 4-under 284.
