Gremio tops Criciuma for third straight win

Criciuma, Brazil (SportsNetwork.com) - Dudu, Hernan Barcos and Rameiro all found the back of the net on Saturday as Gremio earned a comfortable 3-0 victory over struggling Criciuma at the Estadio Heriberto Hulse.

The win keeps Gremio's positive run going as the club extended its unbeaten streak in league play to six matches, including a three-match winning streak, which moved the club into fourth place in the table with 60 points.

The visiting side opened the scoring after 13 minutes when Dudu hit the back of the net, while Barcos doubled the advantage six minutes before the intermission.

Ramiro put the result away with the third goal in the 65th minute and Criciuma rarely threatened the Gremio net as the club slumped to their sixth consecutive loss.

Criciuma remains stuck on the bottom of the table with 30 points from 34 matches played.

Also in Brazil on Saturday, Edson scored in the 74th minute to lift Fluminense to a 1-0 win over Botafogo.

On Sunday, Diego Souza netted the only goal of the game in the 54th minute to hand Sport Recife a 1-0 win over Atletico PR, while Malcom and Renato Augusto scored on either side of the intermission to hand Corinthians a 2-1 win over Bahia.

Diederrick Joel netted a pair of second-half goals for Coritiba, but it wasn't enough as Flamengo claimed a 3-2 win over Coritiba, while Paulao netted a 79th-minute winner to lift Internacional to a 1-0 result over Goias.

Ricardo Goulart's 53rd-minute goal gave league leaders Cruzeiro a 1-0 win against Santos, while Jefferson and Dodo traded goals as Atletico Mineiro and Figueirense played to a 1-1 stalemate.

Vitoria earned a 1-0 win over Chapecoense courtesy of an 80th-minute goal from Dinei, while Luis Fabiano and Rafael Toloi scored to lift Sao Paulo to a 2-0 win over Palmeiras.
