And the throwback paint schemes for Darlington Raceway keep on coming.
On Tuesday afternoon, Greg Biffle and Roush Fenway Racing unveiled their throwback car for the Bojangles' Southern 500.
Biffle's No. 16 Ford Fusion will carry the iconic orange-and-white colors with sponsorship from Hooters, which mirrors the car Alan Kulwicki raced to a NASCAR Premier Series championship in 1992.
"I was a huge Alan Kulwicki fan, so this is a really special opportunity to get to honor him in this way," said Biffle.
Biffle and Hooters have also teamed up to petition congress to recognize local and national heroes who risk their lives on a daily basis by creating a National First Responders Day.
"I'm also a fan of Hooters and really excited to support the campaign to create a National First Responders Day," he added. "There are so many men and women who risk their lives each and every day to keep the rest of us safe, they are the real heroes and definitely deserve a day of recognition."
Biffle has two wins, two poles, three top fives and six top-10 finishes at the 1.366-mile track.
Kulwicki's successful career was cut short after he died in a plane crash on Apr. 1, 1993 near Blountville, Tenn.
Kulwicki earned five wins, 24 poles and 75 top-10 finishes as an owner/driver over the course of 207 races.
He also trademarked the "Polish victory lap" when he drove around the track the opposite direction during the cool-down lap while celebrating his first career victory at Phoenix International Raceway.
