The San Francisco Giants signed pitcher year contract with a club option for 2014 Wednesday.

The 34-year-old right-hander is coming off the best season of his career, recording a 13-7 record with a 2.71 ERA in 30 appearances -- 28 starts -- and was named to his first-ever All-Star team.

His earned run average ranked fourth in the National League behind Los Angeles' Clayton Kershaw (2.28) and Philadelphia's Roy Halladay (2.35) and Cliff Lee (2.40).

Through 150 career appearances with 61 starts for the Giants and Pirates, Vogelsong has pitched to a 23-29 record with a 4.71 ERA.
