Giants' Prince Amukamara set for MRI on Monday, hopes to play in Week 9

The Giants' pass defense desperately needs the return of cornerback Prince Amukamara, and if all goes well, he will be back in Week 9. Steven Ryan USA TODAY Sports

New York Giants cornerback Prince Amukamara is still experiencing soreness after a suffering a pectoral injury that has held him out of the past two games, and he will undergo an MRI on Monday.

Amukamara told reporters that he is progressing in his recovery, and that the Monday MRI is a good thing -- he hopes the doctor will grant him clearance to practice and eventually play in the Giants' Week 9 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
