ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) -- Miami Marlins slugger Giancarlo Stanton has right side soreness and was out of the lineup for Wednesday night's game at Tampa Bay.

"There was a little bit of this going on in spring training at different times so at this point I'm not really that concerned," Marlins manager Don Mattingly said.

"Hopefully it's not something major, it's a day or two. I think that's what it was in the spring, but we'll find out."

Stanton is hitting .214 with 12 homers and 26 RBIs in 43 games.

Christian Yelich didn't start for the fifth straight game because of back spasms, but he did hit in a batting cage.

"I feel a little better about where he's at," Mattingly said. "We're going to be careful with him, but we feel like we're getting close with him."

The outfielder has a .320 batting average with five homers and 20 RBIs this season.
