Cesena, Italy – Struggling Serie A side Cesena has parted ways with manager Marco Giampaolo less than six months after he was appointed.
The decision was made following the club's 2-0 defeat at Parma over the weekend, leaving Cesena winless in its first nine games this season and rooted to the bottom of the league with three points.
A club statement read: "Cesena wish to state that Marco Giampaolo has been relieved of his duties as first-team coach. The name of his replacement will be revealed in the next few days."
Giampaolo, 44, replaced Massimo Ficcadenti at Cesena in June.
