Earlier this week TCU coach Gary Patterson was dreaming about his defensive front for the first time this season pairing defensive end Terrell Lathan and defensive tackle Davion Pierson.

That's going to have to wait. Patterson told reporters that Lahan, who left the SMU game two weeks ago with an apparent shoulder injury and did not play last week at Texas Tech, will not return for Saturday's Big 12 game against Texas.

That's yet another blow for the No. 4 Horned Frogs, who have been decimated on the defensive side. Patterson believed there was a chance Lathan would be back to help put pressure on Texas' dual-threat quarterback Jerrod Heard.

"If we can get Lathan back, get some guys healthy, that will help us," Patterson told reporters earlier in the week. Pierson made his season debut last week in the wild 55-52 win at Texas Tech after being sidelined by lingering concussion effects.

All is not well on the offensive side wither with speedy wide receiver Kolby Listenbee still nursing an apparent back injury suffered against SMU. He didn't play last week, and has been limited in practice this week, according to Patterson. Still, Patterson is holding out hope that his lethal pass-catching duo of Listenbee and Josh Doctson will be reunited Saturday. TCU lost receiver Ty Slanina for the season in the Tech game.

"Kolby still didn't practice much," Patterson told reporters. "But that doesn't mean anything by Saturday."
