London, England – France goalkeeper Hugo Lloris transferred to Tottenham from French club Lyon on Friday for $12.5 million and signed a four-year deal with the English Premier League club.
Lloris, 25, has played 38 times for France and is the captain of the national team. He joined Lyon from Nice in 2008, and made 144 Ligue 1 appearances for the club.
Lyon could ultimately earn $19 million in the deal, as it includes incentives. Lyon will also earn 20 percent of any future transfer fee for Lloris.
