Indianapolis native George Hill played five solid seasons with the Indiana Pacers, but just before the 2016 NBA Draft Hill was traded to the Utah Jazz in a three-team deal that saw Atlanta's Jeff Teague move to the Pacers.

Upon arriving in Utah, Hill revealed that he found out about the trade when he checked his phone and found a voicemail from Larry Bird.

Via 6ABC:

"Last time I checked, I was supposed to retire from Indiana," Hill said. "Very surprising, but I know this is a business and anything can happen. So, I'm not upset about it. I think I'm in a great situation here. I'm here, somewhere where I feel wanted right now."
