Florida Panthers announce 2016 preseason schedule

SUNRISE, Fla. -- The Florida Panthers announced the team's 2016 preseason schedule Friday. The Panthers will play seven preseason games including a matchup with New Jersey at the United States Military Academy in West Point, N.Y., on Saturday, Oct. 8 at 7:30 p.m.

The Panthers seven-game preseason schedule opens on Tuesday, Sept. 27 with a doubleheader at the BB&T Center against Nashville at 3:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Florida will also host Tampa Bay on Thursday, Oct. 6 at 7:30 p.m. at the BB&T Center.

In addition, the Panthers will host a four-team rookie tournament during training camp from Sept. 17-20 at the Panthers IceDen in Coral Springs, Fla. The tournament will include Nashville, Tampa Bay and Washington. The rookie tournament games are free and open to the public.
