Defenseman Scott Hannan has signed a one-year contract with the Calgary Flames, the team announced Saturday. The deal is reportedly worth $1 million.

Hannan, 32, split last season between the Colorado Avalanche and Washington Capitals. He had one goal and 10 assists in 78 regular-season contests.

The veteran defensive defenseman had signed a four-year contract with Colorado before the start of the 2007-08 season, but he was dealt to Washington early in the season for forward Tomas Fleischmann.

Hannan has 31 goals and 185 points in 830 career games. He's also played in 82 playoff contests, including nine with the Capitals last season.

Earlier this offseason, Calgary traded veteran defenseman Robyn Regehr to Buffalo for Chris Butler, and re-signed Anton Babchuk to a two-year pact.
