Flames activate Ramo

Calgary, AB (SportsNetwork.com) - The Calgary Flames have activated goaltender Karri Ramo from injured reserve and placed defenseman Ladislav Smid on injured reserve.

Ramo suffered a head injury in a Jan. 7 game against Detroit after colliding with teammate Raphael Diaz during the second period of the Flames' 3-2 loss.

The 28-year-old netminder has a record of 8-5-1 with a 2.67 goals against average in 16 games this season.

Smid has one assist in 31 games this season.

Calgary also recalled defenseman Tyler Wotherspoon from Adirondack (AHL) and assigned forward Drew Shore to Adirondack.
