UFC bantamweight John Lineker is primed to crack the 135-pound top five after finishing fifth-ranked Michael McDonald with a flurry of punches Wednesday night in the main event of UFC Fight Night from Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Lineker entered the bout on a four-fight win streak and left with his fifth UFC knockout and first career Performance of the Night bonus against McDonald, who insisted on standing in the pocket and trading with the heavy-handed Brazilian.
Lineker rocked McDonald several times over the first two minutes, before dropping him for the final time with a vicious left hook and following up with some good ol' ground-and-pound.
The impressive performance sent a message to the rest of the UFC bantamweight division, and other fighters throughout the promotion took notice as well. Here's what fighters had to say about Lineker's win at UFC Fight Night.
