Derek Needham led five Fairfield players in double figures with 12 points as the Stags won at Austin Peay 74-55 Saturday night in a nonconference game.

Needham added nine assists, four rebounds and two steals to his stat line. Josip Mikulic had 11 points and six rebounds, Marcus Gilbert also had 11 points and Maurice Barrow and Desmond Wade each had 10 for Fairfield (4-4)

Austin Peay (3-4) was led by Travis Betran's game-high 17 points. Will Triggs (11 points) and Anthony Campbell (10) also scored in double figures.

The Governors led 24-23 with 5:06 to go in the first half, but the Stags closed on a 12-4 run to lead 36-28 at halftime. After the break, Gilbert hit a 3 as Fairfield went to work stretching the lead.

Austin Peay crawled within 48-44 with 11:08 left, but a 19-4 Fairfield run effectively ended the comeback bid.
