Fabiano helps Sao Paulo down Flamengo

Sao Paulo, Brazil – Luis Fabiano tallied a goal in each half as Sao Paulo topped Flamengo, 4-1, on Sunday to claim its second win in three matches.

Maicon netted the opening goal after 41 minutes before Fabiano scored on the stroke of halftime to double Sao Paulo's advantage.

Fabiano found the net again before the hour mark while Jadson capped the scoring in the 90th minute for Sao Paulo after Flamengo's Ramon pulled a goal back.

Atletico Mineiro and Fluminense played to a 0-0 draw in a battle of top-three sides, while second-place Vasco da Gama failed to gain ground on Mineiro after being held to a 0-0 draw of its own at Internacional.

Gremio remains in fourth place despite losing 2-1 at Coritiba, which scored the winning goal in the 89th minute from Leonardo.

Andrezinho's second-half goal was the difference as Botafogo beat Figueirense, 1-0, Cruzeiro downed Palmeiras, 2-1, behind two goals from Borges, Portuguesa handed Nautico a 3-1 defeat, which is the third straight setback for the club, Santos topped Ponte Preta, 2-1, with Ezequiel Miralles scoring the winning goal in the 85th minute, while Bahia and Corinthians played to a 0-0 draw as well as Sport Recife and Goianiense.
