GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) Former Florida cornerback J.C. Jackson has been found not guilty Friday on three counts of armed robbery.

Jackson, a defensive back who had been expected to start before the April 18 incident in Gainesville, also was cleared of a burglary charge.

The jury delivered the verdict after about three hours of deliberation.

Jackson told reporters afterward that he still would like to play for the Gators. But his attorney said other Football Bowl Subdivision schools will be contacted about a potential transfer.

Jackson has not been enrolled at Florida since his arrest in April. To return, he might need clearance from the university's student conduct committee.
