Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci of Italy captured the U.S. Open women's doubles title on Sunday with a straight-set win over the Czech tandem of Andrea Hlavackova and Lucie Hradecka.

Errani and Vinci earned a 6-4, 6-2 triumph to claim their second Grand Slam doubles title of 2012. They also won the French Open crown and were runners-up at the Australian Open.

Hlavackova and Hradecka captured the French Open title last year and were the runners-up at Wimbledon in July. They had beaten Errani and Vinci in the Wimbledon quarterfinals and had won four times in five meetings this year prior to Sunday. The lone previous loss came in the Australian Open semis.

Errani had a good two weeks in New York. She beat Vinci in the singles quarterfinals before bowing out to Serena Williams in the semis.

The Italian duo split a first prize of $420,000.
