PHILADELPHIA (AP) Philadelphia Eagles rookie quarterback Carson Wentz demonstrated his winning ways during the team's bye week.

The 24-year-old drafted out of North Dakota State returned there during the Eagles' off week and ran up a $1,000 tab while playing darts and shooting pool with some friends. He then picked up the tab and left a $1,000 tip.

Brent Tehven owns the Herd & Horns Bar and Grill in Fargo, and is friends with Wentz. He vouched for the quarterback's generosity with various media outlets, including WTXF-TV in Philadelphia.

The station says Philly-style cheesesteak sandwiches are becoming popular in Fargo restaurants because of Wentz's successful rookie season, as are replicas of his No. 11 Eagles jersey.
