Argentine tennis player Gisela Dulko has retired from the WTA.

The 27-year-old is a former No. 1 doubles player and captured four singles titles during her career. She won 17 doubles titles on the circuit.

Dulko and Italy's Flavia Pennetta were the WTA doubles team of the year in 2010, a year in which they won the doubles title at the season-ending WTA Championships.

The Buenos Aires native Dulko, who is married to Argentine soccer player Fernando Gago, collected just over $4.2 million in career prize money.
