Down by 13 points with 13 minutes left, Cal State Northridge rallies past Pepperdine 81-75
NORTHRIDGE, Calif. – Donovan Johnson scored 19 points, including three 3-pointers, and Cal State Northridge overcame a 13-point deficit with 13 minutes left for an 81-75 victory in both teams' season opener on Friday night.
Josh Greene was cool under fire for Cal State Northridge, converting six free throws in the final 3 ½ minutes. He finished with 16 points, and Stephen Maxwell added 15.
A layup by Brandon Perry put Cal State Northridge up 64-63 with 5:06 left in the game and the team did not trail after that.
Jordan Baker scored 21 points, including three 3-pointers, to lead Pepperdine. Lorne Jackson scored 16 points.
Cal State Northridge had a 20-4 scoring advantage off the bench.
