Dortmund's Reus facing injury layoff

Dortmund, Germany (SportsNetwork.com) - Borussia Dortmund midfielder Marco Reus will be out of action until January after tearing ligaments in his right ankle, the club confirmed on Monday.

Reus, 25, was injured in Dortmund's 2-2 draw against Paderborn in Bundesliga play on Saturday.

The Germany international has battled injuries most of the season as he was forced to miss the entirety of Germany's run to the World Cup title over the summer with a similar injury.

He has also missed seven of Dortmund's games with the ankle problem as well.

"I'll be back again! Thanks for all your lovely messages wishing me to get better soon," Reus said via his Twitter account.

Last season's runners-up in the German Bundesliga are third from bottom with three wins from 12 league games.
