PARIS (AP) — Third-seeded Novak Djokovic of Serbia has advanced to the second round of the French Open by defeating Evgeny Korolev of Kazakhstan 6-1, 3-6, 6-1, 6-3.

A two-time French Open semifinalist, Djokovic took the first set in just 27 minutes without facing a single break point Monday but lost his serve twice in the second.
