Didier Drogba has come to the defense of his former Côte d'Ivoire teammate Serge Aurier.

Aurier plunged himself into hot water over the weekend after going on a Periscope rant about his PSG teammates and manager Laurent Blanc.

In the video, Aurier made obscene comments about Zlatan Ibrahimovic and his relationship Blanc. He also used homophobic slurs to describe former France defender Blanc.

PSG suspended Aurier indefinitely in the wake of the incident. The ban ruled him out of the 2-1 victory over Chelsea in the first leg of their Champions League Round of 16 tie on Tuesday.

Despite the vitriolic nature of Aurier's comments, Drogba took to social media to support his fellow Ivorian on Wednesday night.

Montréal Impact star and Chelsea legend Drogba makes some valid points about the perils of using social media, but you can't really excuse homophobic rants against coaches, can you?
