St. Louis, MO – The Arizona Diamondbacks recalled pitcher Tyler Skaggs from Triple-A Reno on Tuesday.
Skaggs earned the win in the opener of a doubleheader on May 27 against the Texas Rangers. The 22-year-old southpaw gave up three hits and three walks while striking out a career-high nine batters over six shutout innings.
Over seven career starts with Arizona, Skaggs is 2-3 with a 4.84 earned run average.
Skaggs was recalled to replace pitcher Randall Delgado, who was optioned to Reno following Monday's loss to the Cardinals. He gave up two runs over two innings in the setback.
