New Jersey Devils center Travis Zajac underwent successful surgery Thursday to repair his left Achilles tendon.

Zajac suffered the injury Wednesday during off-ice training in Winnipeg. He is expected to miss 8-10 weeks.

The Devils' all-time ironman, with a consecutive games played streak of 401, Zajac had 13 goals and 31 assists in 82 games with the Devils last season.

The 20th overall pick in the 2004 NHL Draft, Zajac has accumulated 89 goals and 160 assists in 408 career regular-season contests with New Jersey.
