Derek Needham scored 19 points and Desmond Wade posted a double-double with 12 points and 10 boards as Fairfield defeated Saint Peter's 61-54 Sunday in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play.

Saint Peter's (6-14, 1-9) held an early 12-6 advantage but Fairfield used an 11-2 run to take the lead for good, 17-14. The Stags led 28-24 at the break and pushed their lead to 11 four times in the second half.

The Peacocks shot 47.6 percent (10 of 21) in the first half but fell to 34.4 percent (11 of 32) in the second half.

Fairfield (12-10, 4-6), which didn't shoot a single free throw in the first half, made 12 of 16 shots from the line in the second half, including six in the final 2 minutes.

Yvon Raymond's 19 points led Saint Peter's.

Fairfield has had both a five-game skid and six-game winning streak this season.
